ANGEL VALLEY FARM

Our other Bed and Breakfast, Angel Valley Farm, is nestled in the middle of a 100 acre farm, in Los Angeles Sur, just a few minutes North of San Ramon, on the way to Arenal Volcano. The view above is of the Church at Los Angeles Sur, as seen from the farmhouse.

WHAT TO DO AT ANGEL VALLEY

The picture above is of one our horses, Amigo, a gentle yet forceful horse, who can walk all day without tiring, and will trot at the flick of a switch. He moves to a gallop easily, so he's suited for a medium to experienced rider. We have 2 horses, the second is Gringo, a very gentle animal, suitable for ages 4 to 89. We've had up to 3 kids on him, he takes it all in stride (pun intended).

All day horseback riding is free (first come first served, so it's best to reserve), and is included in the prices below, as are the 2 mountain bikes, the gym, the frisbee, the paddle ball, the darts, the badminton, the hammocks and of course the chicken roping.

FEED ME, SEYMOUR

Here is a view of the heart of the operation, because a well-fed cowperson is a happy cowperson. Breakfast is a feast. We have our own egg production department. The eggs come in 3 sizes, quail, banty or Rhode Island red. We have several flavors of coffee, various breads, choice of sausages, home made jams. Build your own omelettes, or choose the famous Angel Tower (write for details). For the Southern gourmet, we have white and yellow grits available. Dinners are Pan-World Cuisine, we can do bits of Asian, French, Italian, Cuban, Costa Rican, Greek, Mexican, and some North American (hamburgers and hot dogs, even have relish and sauerkraut!) Wine or beer (or Rum, Whiskey, Guaro, etc) available, also soft drinks and natural juices.

WHAT ABOUT DOING NOTHING

This is a view of our main relax area, although we also have 2 rocking chairs. We have tons of neat paperbacks, trash/fiction/romance/funny stuff, all the Costa Rica travel books, also Spanish tapes and books, some heavy reading on Permaculture and Natural History, the bird identification book, the butterfly book, Direct TV, all types of world/Latin/Classic Rock/jazz CD's, and great conversation or absolute silence (except for the birds chirping and singing).

THE RIVER

We actually have 2 rivers to hike to, this is the larger one, quite cool water (OK, cold!), coming down from the mountains, fast moving in spots, with Jacuzzi effect, and a swimming hole (about 6 feet deep in the middle).

For reservations, use the same reservation form as Vida Tropical. We have 4 bedrooms each with a bath (2 with Roman Tubs), one bedroom has 2 beds, others one full size (double or queen). We have no A/C or heat as it's not needed.

Our ridiculously low price is $30 a night for one person, $50 for 2 people, kids under 12 are $10 each. Includes breakfast and dinner and all activities, including the horses. There is a great restaurant and bar walking or riding (or crawling) distance, near the church, for lunch if desired, though with the breakfast we serve, you're good to go til dinner.
